International Museum Conference on Climate Change
Dates: 9-11 April, 2025
Location: Vienna, Austria
Overview: This conference invites conservators, building facility managers, climate researchers, entomologist and microbiologist from around the globe, to share and discuss their experiences and scientific findings on indoor museum climate. Future challenges related to insect pests, fungi, increasing energy costs and sustainable green museums will also be discussed and challenged.
IIC-ITCC Conservation and Restoration of Paintings 2025
Dates: 12-13 May 2025 Symposium, 14-23 May 2025 Course
Location: Palace Museum, Beijing, China
Overview: This two-week course, hosted by the Palace Museum, focuses on the recent advances in the conservation of easel oil paintings on canvas and wooden panels, wall paintings, traditional Chinese paintings and thangka paintings. With the goal of refreshing, deepening and enhancing the knowledge of mid-career professionals, the course will include lectures, case studies, practical sessions, presentations, and site visits. The course will be preceded by a two-days Symposium on the same topics, to be held at the Palace Museum in Beijing.

Overview: “Back to the Future – Lessons Learned a Decade Later.” This eventwill revisit themes explored at IADA’s 2014 symposium, “If Only I Would Have Known: LookingBack – Moving Forward”, held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Inspired by the film, ‘Back to the Future’, thissymposium will explore how reflecting on past experiences can inform and enhance futureprocesses and goals.
