In 2022, our engineers worked alongside professionals at the Tate, London to develop a unique Light Wall for their conservation department as part of our bespoke design and build service. As the designers and manufacturers of Willard tools and equipment, we regularly help conservators develop the exact tools they need to enhance their work.
Measuring at an impressive 3x2meters, this particular light wall was designed with an integrated easel built to hold paintings. Alongside many other uses, this piece of equipment is used for light scanning of artwork using the integrated easel.
These large light panels (without the easel) are also used within archival conservation studios and regional records offices etc and they're called ‘Map Walls’. This particular design for the Tate has high efficiency fully dimmable LED's which means the light wall is fully controllable and has very low running costs.
If you would like to talk to our team about an upcoming project you need specific equipment for, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to assist.
