Product Spotlight: Conservation Tables – Suction, Vacuum, Illuminated & Washing

In the early 1960’s, Willard founder Jack Willard pioneered the design and manufacture of the very first heated vacuum relining table. Following the table’s success, Willard have since gone on to expand the range to fully cater to the varying needs of conservators, which now includes; Suction tables, Sub-illuminated Suction tables, multi function tables, work bench tables, and a range of washing tables. The Willard Suction Table with integrated exhauster is supplied with a new “quiet running” enclosed exhauster unit, built on to the table frame below the work surface. This offers the benefits of having all you need in one place and the new low noise system ensures minimum disturbance within the studio. We believe this Willard new suction table is one of the quietest models available. Compact A1 Suction Table
Compact A1 Suction Table

The Willard trolley mounted compact A1 size suction table has been designed to conveniently allow both a suction exhauster and carbon filter to be stowed away under the table for ease of use and practicality.

The table can be operated with both items positioned directly below the table or they can easily be moved to an adjacent position to facilitate use of the table whilst seated.

This an ideal suction table for studios with limited available space without compromising on equipment function and flexibility.

Multi Function Tables

Multi-function Table Option

These unique multi function tables are available in five different equipment levels and in a variety of size combinations up to 3 metres x 4 metres catering to fine art, textile and paper conservation and preservation. As manufacturers of all Willard products, we welcome custom orders to meet specific requirements for our customers. These Suction Tables offer a range of versatile, controllable and interlinked features. They are used typically by fine art conservators for treatments to paintings on textile supports and by textile specialists for a large range of materials.

This excellent, recently introduced table variant allows many treatments to be successfully completed; utilizing the Willard fully integrated proven vacuum & heating systems together with an airflow cooling feature. The table has a hand ground perforated work surface which is mounted on a sturdy powder-coated box steel frame with lockable castors. An inclined easy to use control console housing the control system, is offset on one of the long sides of the table.

The Willard Suction Cleaning & Washing Table is designed for controllable medium pressure, induced flow washing and rinsing where larger quantities of water are required. It may also be used as a large sink unit for immersion and gravity flow washing.

Willard Textile Washing Tables are used typically as support and drainage platforms, with adjustable tilt, for washing and rinsing treatments to large format textiles such as wall hangings, banners, apparel etc.

They may also be used for wallpaper and other large sheet materials. Tables can be converted easily to washing tanks by mounting the detachable sides supplied with the unit.

Either configuration, as washing table or washing tank, is exceedingly useful for containment and drainage when treating a number of smaller items in trays.

The new Light Box Table provides a useful piece of studio or workshop equipment. The table is constructed with a sustainably sourced hardwood timber top frame into which is fitted a sheet of toughened opal glass.

The illumination is provided by colour corrected (6500K) LED lighting, which is fully dimmable and has extremely low energy consumption. The LED’s will provide an average of between 25000 and 50000 hours usage. The Light Box table shown in the photographs has been produced in size 1800mm x 900mm and is mounted onto a sturdy fully welded powder coated steel frame with manual height adjustment providing 200mm of adjustment, this model has a cost of £6250.00.  Other size combinations both smaller & larger are also available and can be produced to order, including a convenient portable model which would be suitable for use on an existing work surface.
